HOW I BROKE THE SARAH PLAIN CHOICE STORY

I had a short post up at 2:30 a.m. that said I had information (from Sharon and one other) that Gov. Palin and her two teen-age daughters and perhaps others had flown from Anchorage to Dayton, where she would be named today McCain's running mate. To my relief and joy, it happened exactly that way in Dayton.

Sarah Palin reads this blog regularly. I used to get hits from her home town and the state capital of Juneau when she was there. When her son graduated from infantry training school at Ft. Benning, GA with Sarah and Todd present, I got my first hit from . . . Ft. Benning. You're always welcome Sarah!

The Palin-choice story came from people who put two-and-two together, and the media was still falling all over itself at 11 a.m. this morning. Charles Krauthammer said at 11 that McCain should choose Fred Thompson. Good God!

At that point, I said to my wife we already had enough old white guys (Biden, McCain) and we needed a woman, preferably Sarah . I went to sleep believing it was Sarah and woke up to her picture on the screen on FOX (and others?). I never bought the Campaign's decoy statement that, well everybody on the list was flying in (Romney, Pawlenty, Huckabee, the Easter Bunny, Peter Rabbit)

The national media -- a bunch of lazy oafs -- was mad because nobody told them first. Charles Cameron of FOX was the only one early this a.m. who did a process of elimination and came up with Sarah.

Then, the other people at FOX and CNN (and the idiots at MSNBC) dropped the ball. They thought it couldn't be Sarah because she wasn't on their list . . . and so how could he dare to nominate this (wonderful) woman they knew nothing about. Amazing.

When she gave the speech -- she had given others the media had ignored -- everyone else in the world knew immediately "how" McCain could select her. With the speech and that amazing family -- the working-class husband, the beautiful, unintimidated children -- Sarah blew everyone out of the water.

"Gee, where's she been?" Good question. Sometimes the very best things are right in front of us. She is Barack Obama's worst nightmare. She is an ethical person. She is extremely tough physically, psychologically, and spiritually.

She will beat Biden up very badly. He's a windbag, and she's a breath of fresh air.

Why Feminists Shouldn't Vote Democratic

Cynthia Ruccia's column today on Clintons4McCain is a good one and worth reading. As you might imagine, I quarrel with Cynthia (and her friends, ALL of whom seem to be Democrats) about the relative merits of the two parties.

In her column, Cynthia says the following about the implications of her deciding to support McCain: "My decision to protest the treatment of Hillary Clinton was going to be the maximum protest -- I was going to vote for John McCain. Period. My Democratic friends and family reacted with horror, “You’re NOT going to vote for MCCAIN?!!!” as if I had decided to endorse a vicious disease. I understood where they were coming from, and although my mind was made up, it was hard to deal with their incredulity towards my decision. I guess I still had a Democratic hangover."

To every Democrat in America, I'd like to offer the following comment: "Relax, in no way is voting for John McCain equivalent to an immoral act. In fact, it might be the most morally sound decision you've ever made."

With all due respect, my response when I read Cynthia's words above was as follows: Have these friends sought professional help? Sometimes the Democratic candidate is far superior to the Democratic. AND SOMETIMES THE REVERSE IS TRUE. I don't regard that statement as profound, but instead obvious.

In a Pennsylvania House race in 2006 (in my district), there was a contest for between powerful Democratic House whip Mike Veon and unknown Republican, Jim Marshall. The Veon ads (he raised a whole lot of money) were simple.

They featured a seriously overweight guy with a vacacant look who said the following: "It's really simple. Mike Veon, dimmiecrat [his pronunciation]. Jim Marshall, Republican." (Our district is heavily Democratic).

My response to the ads was this: "Mike Veon, crook. Jim Marshall, honest man."

To the amazement of everybody in Pennsylvania, Jim Marshall won handily. I fear many of Cynthia's friends, the Beaver County version, would have voted for Mike Veon, because he was in fact a Democrat.

Late last week, Mike Veon, along with many of his Democratic associates in the PA House, was indicted. There were 59 counts (and could have been many more) of bribery, misuse of taxpayer funds, violation of campaign laws, and on and on. He faces possible fines of $860,000 and (theoretical) jail terms of 381 years, which would mean he'd have to live a very long time.

The correct person to vote for in the 2006 election was Jim Marshall, Republican. Sometimes Republicans are criminals and no one should vote for them -- I certainly wouldn't. Some Democrats are cynics and inferior people -- go read CREW's (Committee on Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) analysis of the 20 most corrupt congressmen -- and no one should vote for them.

For me, this has been one of the most startling discoveries I've made in my lifetime: that some people assume a Party membership confers some sort of righteousness/worthiness on a candidate. Obviously, it does not.

I also strongly disagree with Cynthia on where the right political home is for feminists. If she assumes the treatment of HRC, feminist, is some sort of strange aberration that will be ended by vigorous demonstrations in Denver, she's dead wrong. The kind of "feminism" the Party is encouraging is exemplified by Nancy Pelosi, Donna Brazille, Kathleen Sibelius, Claire McCaskill, Rachel Madow, and Michelle Obama.

I'm glad Cynthia is going to vote for John McCain -- almost overjoyed -- but I hope that wise vote is accompanied by some fundamental re-thinking about her Party.

Frankly, why did so many luminaries in that Party (Dean, Kerry, Kennedy, Rockefeller, Daschle, Gore, Casey, and others) stab Hillary in the back? And why did they believe -- and still believe -- that they can get away with it?

I fear they're assuming that Cynthia's friends -- and tens of millions like them -- will come around in the end and vote for the pathetic Obama. Are their assumptions correct? We shall see.

Word to the Wise for McCain Fans...

I am a Hillary supporter, I am also a woman, and an African American living in North Carolina. It appears that you just might have a golden opportunity on the horizon. There are at least 10 million Hillary supporters like myself who WILL NOT vote for Obama in November. BHO is the DNC's chosen one - and certainly not the choice of most Hillary supporters. The 10 million like myself are seriously considering voting for John McCain in November - so please welcome us to your website and to your community. I have already seen very negative, sarcastic comments about Hillary posted on the McCain blog. Jokes about pant suits, desparation, "women" jokes, etc. You have a golden opportunity to win us over to McCain because we don't like Obama any more than you do! Obama's people rule the blogosphere and the MSM is "totally in the tank" for him. Hillary supporters are already very upset over the way she has been treated and we don't appreciate the disrespect that has been shown towards her. The Obama people are rude to us, snobby, condescending, and down right mean toward Clinton supporters. We are very protective of her honor and feel that the media has totally rejected fairness and objectivity throughout this campaign. In fact, Fox News has become our favorite network! Obama is not qualified to be President, and he and his "surrogates" spent 18 months trashing Hillary, calling her a liar, a warmonger, and a bigot, none of which she is. Her endorsement of Obama, whom she said lacked the capacity to be President, is the most unfortunate thing she's done. All of us -- Black, White, Asian, or Native American -- must value country over Party. We should like our Party, true, but we should love our nation -- and do what's best for it. God bless Janice. Doesn't Hillary Really Favor McCain?

A tough governor, Alaska's Sarah Palin, with some equally tough soldiers from her state. Gov. Palin's 18-year-old son, Track, is in the U.S. Army infantry. He enlisted on September 11, 2007.

Is this the woman who will face off against Hillary Clinton for the presidency in 2012 or 2016? A growing number of observers believe that will the case. This weekend, I'll be writing about Sarah Palin on this site -- with a separate piece on my national blog. Please visit.

Tomorrow, Senator Clinton will endorse a man she despises: Barack Obama. Her heart definitely will not be in it.

Isn't this the man -- and old friend -- that Hillary Clinton believes has the character and experience to be a great President?

Make no mistake: This is the original Hillary Supporters for McCain blog. The "other guy," highlighted this morning on CNN, is little more than an impostor. My own site has been up and running since late April. Yesterday, I got more "hits" in a day than I had in the previous week, and I hope to do better today.

If Hillary supporters end up voting for Obama, they truly will have to hold their noses -- with both hands. Frankly, the Obama Campaign has portrayed Mrs. Clinton as a liar, a warmonger (for voting for the original Iraq resolution), and a racist. It's a little hard to take those things back.

Thus, many supporters of Hillary Clinton will not vote for Barack Obama. They believe the Illinois Senator used race and gender in highly improper ways. Some of them believe Obama is not "a Black man." Why? Because he's the child of a white mother and a Black father who deserted the family early in Obama's life. Obama, like so many Americans is of "mixed race," a term he never uses.

Barack was brought up by a white mother (Anna Dunham) and white grandparents (the Dunhams). For obvious reasons, the candidate didn't emphasize those politically inconvenient truths.

In states (South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana) with large numbers of Blacks voting in the Democratic Primary, Obama emphasized his "Blackness." In states with mainy whites voting in the primaries, Obama talked about -- and ran commercials highlighting -- his white relatives.

Geraldine Ferraro, a good and decent person, said months ago that Obama was succeeding because he was a Black candidate (or at least, presented himself as such). For that, Ferraro was mercilessly smeared by the Obama campaign and the national media.

Remember Obama's "major speech" (in Philadelphia) on race? You may recall that he gave the speech, but I challenge to remember one sentence -- or even a phrase -- in that windy piece of oratory.

Bill Clinton has said that Rev. Wright and Father Pfleger served as "surrogates" for Obama. Their job, as the ex-President put it, was to "slime" Mrs. Clinton. After the damage was done, Obama mildly criticized Wright and Pfleger. In fact, Obama said the reason he (mildly) criticized Wright was that the Pastor had "disrespected" him!

Obama's relationship with Wright goes back 20 years. The same is true of his relationship with demagogic priest Pfleger. Are we to believe that Obama only discovered the men's views in the past few months? What has changed is that it's become impolitic for Obama to remain close to the two men. As Wright said, if Obama wins the White House, the Pastor expects to be welcomed with open arms to the White House.

So, why should Hillary Clinton supporters embrace the candidacy of John McCain? Frankly, the Hillary backers can answer that question for themselves. There's one candidate who has the qualifications and qualities to be a good President, and that person is NOT Barack Obama.

Tomorrow, Senator Clinton will "endorse" a person she despises: Barack Obama. Her heart will not be in it.

Amazing in one sense, but not surprising in another. The exit poll results on African-American voting patterns miss the fact that there's another story going on that's not getting reported. (I'm talking about the African-Americans who are NOT turning out to vote for Obama. Where oh where are they? MadLiz gives the answer perhaps.)

I started this blog, Hillary Supporters for McCain, as a site that says: (1) yes, Howard Dean and friends have stolen the nomination (FL and MI being the keys) from Sen. Clinton; (2) John McCain wants your vote, and so do a lot of fine Republican candidates for Congress.

I believe all Republican candidates for the House or Senate should go hard after the Hillary voters.
I want John McCain to tell Black Americans that he REALLY wants their votes. I also want him to promise that Black and Latino Americans are going to play a major role in his administration (starting with Michael Steele, Ken Blackwell, Amy Holmes, and Lynn Swann).
